A Message from the Principal

Dear PISD Parents,

Changing the choices of our students is a major outcome that can positively alter the trajectory of their future. Here at Pearland Independent School District's Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP), otherwise known as the Alternative Learning Academy (ALA), we want each student to become a success- the best version of themselves. We want every young man and young woman to understand that their past mistakes do not have to determine their future. Our school and teachers are dedicated to providing the opportunity for students to change their behavior and to learn in a structured setting.

Our program is designed to meet three goals with the students:

1. Provide an alternative educational setting for students who have committed persistent or serious violations of the Student Code of Conduct;

2. Meet the academic needs of the students;

3. Work toward changing student attitudes and behavior towards a more positive experience.

As parents and school staff, we can work together to foster a positive, structured environment to get your child back on the right path to success. We believe in your child and are here to help him/her on his/her journey.
